Austria, Slovenia & Istanbul
My Austria, Slovenia & Istanbul Trip
As the excitement of my 1st Europe trip builds, I was getting ready with all my warm clothes. Jackets, sweatshirts, full sleeves and warm trousers filled by roller bag to weight 32 kgs. Being off-season for tourism in Europe, I bagged some great airfare and accommodation deals.
I landed in Germany (Just missed the Germany Beer fest by a few days) and took a luscious green road trip to Zell Am See, a city in Austria. Gipfelwelt 3000 Glacier was an eye-catching tourist attraction which one of the best things I experienced during this entire trip. the journey to the top was the stunningly snowed mountains with a lot of memorable futuristic views.
Slovenia was my next city where I lodged in an apartment at Bled. The most beautiful lake you just cannot miss while you are here is Lake Bled. The vast water reach, the sound of it flowing and the little quacking ducks were the show-stealers. The Bled Castle had a very interesting story and the Vintgar Gorge was a scenic walk, both these attractions are like the crown of Bled, Slovenia. All the ski passionate people make it a point to visit this small town in Slovenia named Kranjska Gora which has a 30 km ski slope. It is a paradise for the snow sports fanatics. My next accommodation was in Ljubljana the capital of Slovenia, which deserves all the laurels from this trip. It had some breathtaking attractions like Ljubljana Castle, Predjama Castle, Postojna Caves. These 3 attractions have their own charm which you need to experience personally.
I flew to Turkey, Istanbul airport and was pleasantly surprised by the lavishly designed airport. I was awestruck by the construction of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul was literally grand.
Every lady is contented when her trip ends buying a few accessories and clothes. So was I.
